1 Production Film Co. was founded by Producer Lee Lieh in 2007. It is the first emerging stock company focusing on film production in Taiwan that is dedicated to high film quality and creative and meaningful works. Its produced works include “Orz Boyz!” which was nominated for 4 awards at the Golden Horse Awards (GHA) and won Best Supporting Actress. The blockbuster film “Monga,” produced for the 2010 Lunar New Year season, broke a decade-long absence of domestic films during this prime slot, was nominated for numerous domestic and international film awards, and its lead actor, Ethan Ruan, won the GHA for Best Leading Actor. “Jump Ashin!”, produced in 2011, narrated a real-life inspired story that touched audiences across Taiwan, creating a "jump" craze in the summer of 2011 with its deeply ingrained fervent spirit, and was nominated for 5 GHA awards. “Zone Pro Site,” a local hilarious comedy produced in 2013 that combined elements of food, family, and love, achieved a high box office performance of over 300 million NT dollars. In 2017, the team behind “Zone Pro Site” produced “The Village of No Return” with a lavish budget and a star-studded cast, becoming a rare ancient costume Lunar New Year blockbuster in Taiwan's film history. In 2019, 1 Production Film launched the much-anticipated film adaptation “Detention,” based on the globally bestselling video game, which earned 260 million NT dollars at the box office, received 12 GHA nominations, and won 5 awards. In 2020, “My Missing Valentine” won 5 GHA awards, including Best Narrative Feature, out of 11 nominations, and in the same year, “City of Lost Things” won the GHA for Best Animated Feature.
The company has assisted South Korea's CJ Entertainment and Showbox in shooting the Korean films "The Spy Gone North" and "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations" in Taiwan, and assisted an American Hollywood company in filming "Love in Taipei" in Taiwan, which is distributed by Lionsgate. In 2023, the invested film "Miss Shampoo" grossed over 80 million NT dollars at the box office. In 2024, the film "Gatao: Like Father Like Son" achieved a box office gross of nearly 230 million NT dollars, ranking as the top-grossing domestic film of the year, and received 4 Golden Horse Award nominations. In the same year, the film "Dead Talents Society," co-invested with Sony Pictures USA, garnered 11 Golden Horse Award nominations and achieved a global box office gross exceeding 240 million NT dollars. In 2025, the company continues the Gatao IP universe with the sequel film "Gatao: Together" and the series "Gatao”, as well as the fantasy romance epic "Measure in Love" produced by Sylvia Chang and starring Greg Hsu and Angela Yuen. Additionally, the invested Netflix Original Series "The Oracle Comes" is scheduled to be released in 2026.
